Level 2 Award for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry (Top Up)
Qualification Overview & Objective: This course is specifically designed for licensed Close Protection Operatives seeking to update their skills in line with the latest SIA (Security Industry Authority) requirements. The primary goal of this qualification is to provide training that supports professional development within the security industry. This top-up course is essential for individuals who already possess an SIA licence and are looking to meet the new standards set for close protection services.
Age: Candidates must be 18 years or older.
Prior Certification: Applicants are required to hold a valid Level 3 (RQF/QCF) or Level 6 (SCQF) full first-aid qualification, which is a prerequisite for undertaking any close protection training.) 3-day full first-aid qualification before they can begin any close protection training.

To ensure efficient delivery of our 4-day Close Protection Top-up course, self-study is mandatory for all participants. Before attending the course, learners are required to complete two key ACT e-learning modules: ACT Awareness and ACT Security. These modules are available at the National Counter Terrorism Security Office’s learning platform, which can be accessed here.
Additionally, participants must undertake the Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor through self-study on our website. Login details for accessing this module will be provided upon registration.
By completing these prerequisites, learners will be fully prepared to engage with the course material and benefit from in-depth training sessions.
